BIOGRAPHY

The man behind Starchaser  & Danny Darko is the composer/producer Danny Cannizzaro. Born 1979, Danny got his first record deal when he was only 18 years old, in 1998. That first vinyl ("I Had enough") was the beginning of his artistical career.

In the following years, Danny scored a good number of hits, like Blackspider's "Save your life" (licensed in 10 countries worldwide) and "I will" ans was composer and co-producer of Starchaser first hit "Jambe Myth/Love will set you free" (one of the hit of 2002, released in 20 countries and reached n.24 in the UK POP Singles Chart). As Danny Darko he composed and produced songs like "Save The Whales", "We need to wake up", "Hero" , he was also the man behind 2009 hit The Bad Bankers "We fucked you up".

Danny is a very ecleptical producer: from house to electro, progressive, trance, commercial, he tried almost every electronic music genre (including breakbeat). There is no surprise that his songs have been supported by top djs alike Pete Tong, Dj Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, Armin Van Buuren and many more.

This is why Danny uses different names according to the style produced. He uses Danny Darko for progressive/melodic electro house, Starchaser for mainstream house, and Danny Cannizzaro for funky, house, tribal and anything groovy. He recently started with his buddies Toni Lewis & Alex Much the project "Dark Society" to explore the "darkest" side of house music.

AN ENVIROMENTALLY COMMITTED PRODUCER

Danny is known for his environmental beliefs; releases such as "Save the whales" , "We need to wake up!" or "Go Solar!" - just to name a few - testify his love for nature and his try to awake young people consciouness. But let's Danny speaks...

"I think an artist has the opportunity to speak out to people, because Music is first of all of communication. Dance music producers have the great opportunity to speak to young generations. This is why I often use music to try to increase people awareness on certain environmental themes and sometimes link my releases to green initiatives. In 2007 through an initiative connected to the single "We need to wake up!" we planted a thousand trees in the wasted lands of Haiti. In 2008, the anthem "Save The Whales" - supported by top djs alike Dj Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren - was a message against industrial mass whaling which is putting whales on the verge of extinction. "Go Solar!" was a sort of  invitation to shift to clean (solar) energy. This is the way i like to work."
